I started club racing in 1997 on a 250 Kawasaki. In 1998 I moved up to the British Honda CB500 cup and finished 4th overall as a novice (James Ellison became Champion). The highlight of 1998 was a second place finish at Snetterton. In 1999 I again raced in the British Honda CB500 Cup, but only for part of the season due to finances. I scored my first British race win at Thruxton and another podium at Silverstone. My racing then became a bit sporadic until a full-time return in 2005. In 2001 I entered the Manx Grand Prix, although I never made my real roads debut as the event was cancelled due to Foot & Mouth. Instead I raced a GSXR1000 in some club meetings never off the podium. In 2005 I raced in the Ducati DesmoDue series and had a torrid season and suffering a broken arm at the first round. I came back in 2006 and won the championship with 8 wins from 14 races, including a win at Assen, Holland. In 2007 I was runner-up in the same series. 2008 ended prematurely due to lack of finances. | Name: | Dominic Cann |
